Seahurst Park, established in 1975 and later entrusted to the City of Burien, stands today as a testament to thoughtful preservation. Once slated for major development, it remains a largely natural shoreline - its beach intact and thriving.

Home to eagles, herons, owls, raccoons, and abundant marine life, the park is also a place of learning, with a salmon hatchery and marine lab supporting local education. Designated a Marine Reserve, Seahurst protects the delicate balance of life along its shores.

Over time, restoration efforts - including the removal of an aging seawall—have revived critical habitats, improving conditions for forage fish and supporting young Chinook salmon along their migratory path.
