No matter the vantage point, the Grand Tetons are simply majestic. On this warm spring day, beneath clear blue skies and drifting white clouds that seem to brush the mountain peaks, the landscape feels almost otherworldly.
Capturing the reflection of trees and clouds upon the river presented a unique challenge-balancing their gentle movement while preserving a sense of stillness. The interplay of light and motion demanded careful attention. Along the water’s edge, layers of green and yellow were built up and refined, using a scraping technique to suggest the natural patterns and textures of the grasses.
My hope is that you can place yourself within the scene- seated in the tall grass, one foot trailing in the cool river - breathing in the fresh, earthy air and becoming immersed in the quiet, intoxicating beauty of this truly “grand” mountain range.
